I typically start my work week on Sunday and since I work eve/nights 7pm-7am I try and sleep until 11am-Noon, and not eat until after my work out. My first meal (about 2pm) is always a protein shake.
My next meal, meal two was taken around 5:30pm right before I went to work. 4 egg whites, 2 whole eggs scrambled and half a red grapefruit.
So far I wasn't feeling hungry.
Meal three came around 8:30pm, tilapia with 6 spears of asparagus. As soon as I finished I was looking forward to my next meal.
As I was eating meal four (chicken, 1 cup broccoli and 1TB olive oil) around 10:30pm I realized I only had two meals left and maybe I should have pushed that one back by an hour, probably not a good idea since I had to go from one floor to another, give and get report, do vitals and chart which could have pushed this meal further back. Ahhh the rhythms of a hospital, liven the dream.
My next moment to eat came around 1am, meal five: tuna steak and 6 spears of asparagus. I was supposed to toss back another TB of olive oil but I forgot. I'll take that with meal six.
I plan on eating my last meal, meal six around 4am, but it might be more like 5am. This meal I'm not looking forward to, 12 hard boiled egg whites, 1 cup of broccoli and 1TB olive oil. I made sure to peel and remove the yokes before leaving home or I'd be too tempted to eat them! I may need to scramble the egg whites and re heat, I'll see how the hard boiled egg whites go down.
Leanne if you're reading this I had originally quoted 1800+ calories but I accidentally put in 2TB olive oil for meals three and four-ooops...
I'm on my six meal as we speak, I'm so NOT hungry for this and am having a difficult time swallowing 12 hard boiled egg whites. I pre boiled 12 for tonight, but after that I'm going to scramble and re heat them!
I feel like barfing! My cheeks are filled with egg whites and I'm thinking of the movie animal house: "what am I?"
A ZIT!
Okay Vivian (my eldest), day one is done!
I didn't make it on my last meal :( I really felt like I was gonna puke! I'll make sure to scramble and reheat tonight! I ate 6 and tossed the rest in some random trash can at the nurse's station much to everyone's displeasure but mine! Heh...
Hi,
ReplyDeleteI don't think I could eat 12 hard boiled eggs in one sitting either...
Just out of curiousity, why is the cholesterol so high? I would presume that number should be under 200mgs a day. http://my.clevelandclinic.org/heart/prevention/nutrition/atp3.aspx Is this one of the side effects of weightlifting and putting on muscle?
I looked over my previous and today’s nutrition to see where the bulk of my cholesterol came from and the culprit was 2 egg yolks=424mg. I also googled top ten foods that were high in cholesterol and the number one offender was the egg yolk. That being said the yolk is actually jam-packed full of important nutrients, especially the fat-soluble vitamins and essential fatty acids.
ReplyDeleteTo answer your question I don’t think cholesterol above 200mg is a side effect of weight lifting and adding muscle. My cholesterol levels are fine although at one point they weren’t when I was living off fast food and refined sugars.
I hope this helped…
